Tailwynd Australian Cattle Dogs
RESCUES

We here at Tailwynd Kennels feel that if you are going to breed, you should be willing to rescue. Unfortunately, other's do not agree which is one reason there is such a need for rescue. Rescue is very important to us and we firmly believe a rescue dog can provide the same love, friendship, loyalty, and intelligence as a breeder dog does. All our rescue dogs are temperment tested and live with us for at least two months before they are put up for adoption. We feel that a rescue dog has had a rough start as many of them come from kill shelters, abusive homes, or off the streets. We carefully screen potential adoptors to ensure the match between you and the dog is a perfect fit. We feel these dogs deserve a forever home and we will do anything in our power to ensure that happens. Please bear with us during this process, we just want the rescue dog as well as the adoptor to be happy. We firmly believe if you the adoptor is not happy then the dog will not be happy either.

If you are interested in helping a rescue dog by making a donation please contact Stacey, stacey@acdrescueinc.com, or Ivy, ivy@acdrescueinc.com, with Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Inc.

FRECKLES HAS BEEN ADOPTED!!!!!Meet Freckles!!! This young lady is roughly a year to a year and a half old spayed female. This young lady was turned over to Orange County Animal Services because her former owner decided to have a "change in lifestyle" that did not include her. She was due to be euthanized with nobody coming to her aid so we road tripped up to Orlando and with the help of the shelter staff and our good friends Maritza and Frank, Freckles was pulled and saved. This girl is a social butterfly and a real sweetheart. She bonds really tight but takes a couple days to warm up. This girl is looking for her forever home, if you think you might be interested in this wonderful girl please contact us!!!

DESTINY HAS A NEW HOME!!Meet Destiny!!!  As with every rescue, Destiny has a story.  I recieved an email from a rescue group about this girl being in a very seedy section of the town and in grave danger of being caught in a live trap by animal services.  Later in the morning I spoke to a lady who told me that some very bad people were pouring gasoline on this lovely girl and she felt they might be trying to set her on fire!  I of course dropped everything at work and ran...  I mean who needs a job right??  I arrived in a very undesireable section and started trying to locate her.  After about fifteen minutes I feared something bad had already happend.   I then spotted her trotting across a parking lot.  It was total love at first sight!!  I jumped out of the vehicle with leash in hand and began calling to her.  She came flying over to me! WOW, what a phenominal personality!  As we were getting aquainted I did not notice the three homeless gentlemen run up to me and begin yelling at me.  Of course I don't speak spanish so I didn't have a clue what they were saying.  I tried to exlplain to them I was there to help her and not hurt her and pointed to the live trap I noticed set up by the dumpster.  Finally, a fourth gentleman came over and I explained to him that I was there to help her and I was going to take her to the vet and find her a wonderful home!  He explained to the other three and they immediately began thanking me..  It was very nice to see their concern for her.  I opened the door to the car and she jumped right in and laid down.  We had about a thirty minute ride to my vet's office and I began to become overwhelmed by the smell of gas or diesel fuel.   When I arrived at my vet and we began looking at her we could see very bad chemical burns on her body.  They had to have hurt but she never complained!!  I have to say this girl has really captured my heart, she is everything people should strive to be.  She has been with me now for two days and she is my best buddy.  She is getting several oatmeal baths a day to try to calm down her skin which is really red and irritated.  She is scheduled to be spayed on Monday and have the rest of her "beautification" process.  SO I decided with this one I was either destined to get my behind whipped by the homeless guys or lose my job so......... the name Destiny

Mid Florida Cattle Dog Rescue, Ms. Marie, Stacey, Victoria, and Sue should get the four paws up on this one.  I emailed them and they jumped into action within minutes.  Destiny's "beautification" is being supplied by Mid Florida Rescue.  Destiny will be up for adoption through their web site.(http://www.acdflorida.com/)  These ladies work tirelessly to help this wonderful breed and they get very little credit for their efforts.  Please stop in by their site and adopt one of these angels.   Mid FL is a non for profit organization and the adoption fees go towards the assistance of other Cattle Dogs in need.  If you are not ready to adopt please consider making a donation to this very good cause.

Bubba playing hide and go seek with a ball.  It didn't take him long to figure out I was not going to crawl into the dog house to dig out the ball!
