In April of 1998, I bought my first ACD from a breeder who is now a very dear friend. I was looking for the ultimate obedience and agility dog and I felt Briana was that pup. There were alot of trials and tribulations with Briana and alot of phone calls to the breeder. I was no way prepared for the willful dog that was before me. She was so intelligent as a puppy at times I believed she was smarter than I was! Briana had a spark in her eye you could just tell her mind was always working and that she had a little of the devil and a prankster in her. She had the ability to think beyond the parameters of a normal dog. She was so in tune with my feelings and moods it was scary. By the age of six months, Briana and I came to an understanding. As long as I did what she said, she would let me believe I was in charge. I had no intentions of showing Briana in the conformation ring because I believed she was not show quality although I felt she was the most beautiful dog I ever laid eyes on. As part of our training, I entered Briana as a puppy in a conformation show just to introduce her to the show life so it would become second nature to her. To my suprise, she won her class and after that I was hooked. Briana quickly finshed her AKC Conformation Championship, her CD and CDX title and she did all of this before she was 31/2 years old!! Briana was an exceptional dog and quickly became my best friend and life long companion. Tragically, I lost Bri to liver failure 11 days short of her 4 year old birthday. I lost a major part of my life when I lost her and things have never been the same. Through time I have gotten several of her nieces from her sister Teddy of Timber Kennels and have recently her sister Noosa came to me for retirement. Briana's spirit lives on as I can see a little of her in each one of her family members. Briana was a unique and amazing dog. She will continue to live on in her nieces and nephews and she will never be forgotten.
